Kaiku

Kaiku is a participatory sound installation. It invites visitors to interact by recording a voice message. Kaiku is the scribblings and drawings on a public toilet wall in an audio form. As the messages are played back they mix with previous messages and affect and inspire future ones. A Finnish proverb says that ‘the forest answers in the same way one shouts at it’. So does Kaiku – the soundscape depends on the actions of the audience.

Kaiku was displayed at Jaarajoki Rockrock festival during 21.-23.6.2017.
